  • About me

Hi! I’m Céline, 24 years old and I live in a tiny village near Ostend, Belgium. I’ve got a British boyfriend which means I regularly go to England. I absolutely love animals, no matter their size. I also adore onion rings.

On my 19th I got diagnosed with Rheumatoid artritis. Something that isn’t fun and is limiting my mobility. I’m officially recognized as a disabled person, I use a cane and a wheelchair.

Other than that I’m also diagnosed with a rather rare muscle disease, CIDP, which means that the signals from my brain to my muscles and from skin to brain isn’t working well. I also have Depression and PTSD

When I tell people I have RA or just disabled in general I always get a shocked reaction because “You sure are too young to have RA or be chronically sick in general”, which is also the reason why I started this blog, to raise more awareness.

I named my blog The Tortoise Life as I compare myself with a tortoise since everything goes a lot slower due to my diseases.

The tortoise life is mostly a lifestyle, travel, health blog but I pretty much just post what I want, enjoy!
